This has no longer duration, it stops at 3 seconds only...

3 seconds of running for 15 sec recharge...one of the worst duration-to-recharge ratios for a run skill.

It's a 50% run boost. Thats huge. What you lack is imagination. It's there to get the assassin in and out. Same as shadows of haste. Also keep in mind, this like recall has no attribute. This means any class with /a in it can have a free speed boost without having to put points in.

shadex, doesn't matter if it has no requirement, for most uses using sprint with 0 str gives you 8 seconds of 25% speedboost, which I actually prefer.

if dash had been 5 secs then i could have lived with it, but 3 secs is just to darned short...

You lack the testing needed ingame shadex lol.

One would think that 50% is twice 25%, thus this skill would be the equal to about 6 secs of 25% running. (Which BTW, is STILL worse than a 0 attribute Sprint).

But when Me, a warrior, was running with an assassin, I really only noticed them being 1-2 steps ahead of me (not 'blowing me away'), and I of course closed that gap and started winning after his speed buff was gone...

This skills only use above all the other speed buffs, is 1 situational scene. If someone with no speed buff is chasing you, it can put a decent 1-2 step gap between you faster than a 25% buff. Sure. (If they have ANY speed buff though, they'll close that gap in secs anyway because of their longer buff).

Dash is good for short distances (like the name implies ^^).

ex: You just ganked the other team's archers in Hunter's Hall in a GvG. You need to get out before the other team comes back and kills you. Your team's Monk is one aggro bubble outside the door. Dash to it, and you reach him/her safely before getting blasted into smithereens.

Dash is when you are close to your allies but you need to get there fast.

crappy skill, now if it was 75% faster, then maybe it would be ok, or lengthen to 5 seconds, but at its current stat its simply a waste of a skill slot.

This is a good skill for rangers who run though.
With max expertise you need 2 seconds or something of speedboost before dodge recharges, and dash is excellent to fill that gap.

What!? No one mention about landing a cripple on a guy that is running away w/ or w/o a speed buff?

The 3 sec is perfect for a decent player to land a cripple when the opponent all of sudden decide to run from your melee range.

No, it is not a running skill. It is a dashing skill.

'

Rangers can Already have 100% running up all the time.

Vermilion Okeanos - A 25% faster buff would be just as good in that situation, and has useses outside of that situation.

You have to remember this si just like Dodge vs Storm Chaser.

Dodge covers less distance but you get there faster which is useful when losing mobs.

Still Anet really needs to buff the time it is active. Mybe 6 seconds would be good.

Dodge also gives you % chance to block arrows...

It atleast has something. Dodge is also used because its the only other run skill for rangers thats non-elite (other than storm).

I have a feeling this might be used in pvp as a sort of distortion replacement. The ability to outkite warrior damage may be useful. (Unless Primary or Secondary assassins become common on the main damage dealers)

Its the sort of skill you might use in gvg to 'dash' back into healing range if you have overextended a bit.

All of these suggestions for uses would be awesome if it made you move asfast as the desp. makes you think...But in reality the difference between it and the speed buffs we have now is minimal (1-2steps).

That minor speed boost can be the difference between getting back in healing range after over-extending, or dieing.
